Conductor,
Artistic Director, English Classical Players
Single-minded
devotion to his musical ideals and uncommon interpretative flair coupled with technical
brilliance and a sense of daring combine to mark out Jonathan Brett as one of the most
talented of Britain’s younger generation of conductors.
Artistic Director of the
English Classical Players since 1990, he has worked with them
at leading venues in and around London and all over the UK.
Over the course of this period he developed the orchestra into one of the
country’s finest, noted for its opulently beautiful tone, and the brilliant
virtuosity and exuberance of its performances.
He also appears as a guest conductor with orchestras all over
Europe, conducting a wide range of repertoire from the baroque to the present
day.
He is a Fellow of the
RSA.
